The 150th anniversary of the birth and the 80th anniversary of the death of Princess Daisy von Pless ~ the most famous resident of the Pszczyna palace. Princess Daisy also became a binder of partnership contacts between Pszczyna and Wałbrzych. It is worth noting that the partner city of Pszczyna ~ Wałbrzych also established 2023 as the Year of Princess Daisy.

 

Born in England, Duchess Maria Teresa, Countess von Hochberg, Baroness of Książ (1873 ~ 1943), conducted extensive economic and charitable activities and was involved in numerous initiatives aimed at improving the living conditions of people from the lower social strata. She was a person full of passion and ability, which is confirmed by the Duchess's published memoirs.

 

The above-mentioned topics became the starting point for a temporary exhibition to be realized in the Bison Showcase in the Historic Park of Pszczyna, the scenario of which is to look at the figure of Princess Daisy Hochberg von Pless from a slightly different perspective ~ in relation to written memories and iconographic archives depicting the world nature and the places the Duchess mentions. Thus, the exhibition "DAISY~NATURA(LNIE)" will give the voice of Duchess Daisy herself, which, combined with photographic documentation, creates an interesting characteristic of this extraordinary icon of the Green Pearl of Upper Silesia.
