In the European Bison Show Farm in the Historic Park of Pszczyna, thanks to obtaining funding from the Provincial Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management in Katowice, we have completed the IV stage of planting as part of the mini botanical garden project, designed by landscape architect Marty Żak from MŻ~PRACOWNIA PROJEKTOWA. As part of the project, nearly 3ooo bulbs were planted, including: spring snowflakes, two-leaved squills, narcissus and botanical tulips and crocuses. The species used will be the first use for e.g. bumblebees, bumblebees and other pollinators during the early spring flowering period. The layer of shrubs under the eaves of the park's old trees was supplemented with maples, dogwoods (flowered, kousa), euonymus, laurels, bouquet hydrangeas and witch hazel, in the amount of less than 1oo pieces. From this group, witch hazel in the varieties 'Feuerzauber' and 'Ruby Glow' will bloom the earliest, at the turn of January and February. Dogwoods and hydrangeas will please our eyes in the spring and summer, while maples and euonymus will be decorative throughout the growing season (and for the initiated even in winter, due to attractive shoots). An important aspect of the multi-stage implementation of the garden is to achieve the greatest possible local biodiversity, where the protection of the proper ecosystem will be ensured along with microhabitats of ecological niches.
