The new proteges are already outside the adaptive aviary

For some time, in the European Bison Show Farm, you can see an enlarged herd of Indian peacocks. These birds are an additional attraction, which is important~planned well in advance. A group of individuals to be released had been staying in an aviary located in the vicinity of the educational-exhibition building for many months. The birds got used to the new place of residence, and over time they recognized it as their territory. Thanks to such conduct, we managed to achieve the goal we wanted the most ~ when, after being released into the wild, they did not move away from the place where they had to mature to such an extent that even at night and in the early morning ... they stayed on the roof of the aviary . In addition, we noticed that they do not separate and often return to the vicinity of the adaptive aviary ~ that's where they feel safe.

New charges, thanks to their inborn instinct, are quite timid. Such a natural behavior is extremely important, because the fence of the facility is not electrified and various predators (martens, foxes, badgers) often get into it. That is why birds usually choose the branches of tall trees for their night resting place.

Unfortunately, we humans may turn out to be more dangerous than predators. Therefore, we kindly ask you to read the applicable regulations posted both at the entrance to the Bison Showcase and on our website under the link Regulations of the European Bison Show Farm in the Historic Park of Pszczyna. We hope that the visitors care about the well-being of all our charges and you will pay special attention to those behaviors that are prohibited in all similar centers dealing with animals.

Such behaviors certainly include attempts to catch, chase animals and shouting loudly. This approach can disturb the birds and cause
unnecessary stress (having a direct impact on health). What is equally very important, please remain calm when meeting peacocks walking around, so that the birds feel completely safe in the Eruopean Bison Show Farm. Peacocks do not require feeding, because the garden is full of herbaceous plants and small insects that are their natural food base. Therefore, you should not give animals any food that, given by humans, can bring more harm than good (including, unfortunately, the death of the animal). At the same time, we would like to remind you that these are wild creatures that, if they feel threatened, can attack and hurt severely. Therefore, birds should be able to move freely without being disturbed by visitors.

It's a tougher time for them now. They were safe in the aviary, in the garden of the European Bison Show Farm, where nature has its own rules, they will have to protect themselves, especially at night, when predators are active, and during the day they will learn and get used to being in the presence of people.
